About Me

I am a retired pediatric nurse practitioner with more than 30 years of experience caring for neurodiverse children. I worked in primary care offices and schools focusing on supporting and advocating for children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, defiance, anxiety, and sensory issues and other learning differences. Since retiring, I have used my knowledge and experience to coach parents with challenging children, support families through the special education process, and help students learn skills needed to succeed in school and other areas of life. As the parent of neurodiverse children, I have experience on both sides of the special education process and the behavioral health system.

I started Owl and Ivy to help support parents through challenging circumstances at home, school, and extra curricular activities. Helping parents understand their options and available resources goes a long way toward improving quality of life and coping for students. Helping educators understand creative, appropriate ways of supporting students increases success and decreases stress for everyone.
